i normally use proactive and i LUV it! it works so well. for example, one day i had this huge zit and, after using proactive set(wash, toner, mosturizer, and blemish cream) only once and the next day i woke up and it had gone down about 75% and was a whole lot less red. i agree with the ford model but i also believe that you should always rotate with washes and such. sometimes your skin gets used to products and after a while, it stops making any effect at all.
Liv, thanks for commenting. Liv is right, when washing your face with a washcloth move it in circular motions. If you don't rotate the cloth in a circle and if you rub too hard, that could lead to wrinkled skin when your older.
I have had an amazing experience with Clean and Clear. I have never tried proactive so I can't compare it with that but it WORKED SO WELL!!!! I just used the three bottles that it originally came with. I had annoying pimples on my forehead and a line of blackheads across my nose that just wouldn't go away, so I decided to try this product. After following the three super easy steps I went to bed. The next day my blackheads were literally gone and the pimples on my forehead were so tiny that I could barely see them!! And the pimples weren't red anymore!!! It worked so well that I can't imagine using anything else. You HAVE to try this!!!
Katie, thanks soo much for commenting! your experience with Clean & Clear sounds amazing. I'll see what i can do to get my hands on the magical product and try it for myself. I posted the Clean & Clear website so that anyone can order there own bottles or read and learn more about the product.
i use something called gel radience from lancome. it's this gel face wash that you use twice a day. while washing, it foams up, opens pores, and leaves your face feeling fresh and clean. after washing my face, i put a water-based lotion all over my face (also from lancome) and it moisturizes and leaves your skin soft and healthy. for pimples, i use neutrogena's acne on-the-spot treatment. before going to bed, squeeze a little dab onto your finger, rub it gently onto to the zit, and go to bed. i put the on-the-spot lotion on then the water-based lotion because the neutrogena can dry out skin if applied to areas with no pimples.
Good question olivia, This is another myth that most people think sunscreens can cause acne. Studies showed that those who have break out after using sunscreens are because of having irritant reaction to the sunscreen or to the sun. These types of rashes can have the red bumps that look just like acne but don't typically improve with acne medications.Sometimes, the break out could be due to how the sunscreen was prepared, i.e. either too greasy or occlusive and not the active ingredient of the sunscreen itself. If that is the case, a different choice of sunscreen preparation should be used, hence, if we are using a cream, switch to a lotion and if we are using a lotion, try a gel. The good news is that sunscreens are also available in oil-free preparation for those with especially oily or acne-prone skin.
Sabina Gadecki ~follow this process every night before you go to bed - Rub Vasaline around the bottom of your eyelids - Put a little bit of Vitamin E oil on your finger and run your finger along the edge of your top eyelashes.
+ In the morning the skin around your eyes will look and feel moisturized, clean, and clear.
Liz says:"Get Philosiphy face wash from sephora! it works great for me and makes skin real smooth!"
Don't Pop It!!!
Liv's got another great tip! Don't pop your pimples, it leaves more redness, scars, and of course pain. Instead take a hot(hot) compress and hold it on the afflicted area for half and hour to an hour, when the compress starts getting cold, rinse it under hot water again. this draws the puss out so that u can either lightly scratch it out or you can push on the skin directly around it, creating the same pressure popping it would except this doesn't make it red or scars your face.
Molly's tip
Molly says: Put honey on your face for 10-15 minutes (if your not allergic) then wash it off, this will help oily skin
Liv's Coffee and Cocoa Face Mask
Exfoliate and soften your skin. Mix coffee grinds, cocoa powder, and milk together. Then smear it on your face and let it sit for 15 minutesbefore rinsing off.
